HOW TABBY WORKS
Tabby splits shared expenses between two and six friends and tells you who owes whom. One person starts a tab, everyone else joins with a link, and Tabby does the math. There are three steps and the whole thing takes under a minute.
01
Start a tab
Sign in once and name it — "Lisbon Aug", "Cabin weekend". You get a share link.
02
Share the link
Everyone else taps it and enters a name. No account, no download, no app store.
03
Add and settle
Log expenses or scan a receipt. Tabby shows the fewest payments that clear every debt. Tap SETTLE when the money moves.
WHAT TABBY DOES
- • Splits an expense evenly, or between only the people who were there.
- • Reads a receipt photo and fills in the merchant, total, and date for you.
- • Recalculates balances live when someone joins mid-trip.
- • Reduces a tangle of debts to the smallest number of payments.
- • Lets anyone in the group mark a payment as settled, and undo it.
- • Keeps an edit history for every expense, so changes are never a mystery.
WHAT TABBY DOESN'T DO
Tabby does not connect to your bank, track your credit, or manage a budget. It does not move money — you pay each other however you already do, with Venmo, Cash App, or cash, and mark it settled. That narrowness is deliberate.
QUESTIONS
- Do my friends need to download anything?
- No. Tabby runs in the browser. Your friends tap the link you send and they're in.
- Do my friends need an account?
- No. Only the person who starts the tab signs in. Everyone else joins straight from the link with just a name.
- What if someone joins after we've already added expenses?
- Expenses split with the ALL option automatically include anyone who joins later, and balances update live without a refresh.
